Matalascañas -- Turism
The autonomous region of Andalusia has an ample network of transport connections over land, sea and air. Andalusia comprises eight provinces that include: Almeria, Cadiz, Cordoba, Granada, Huelva, Malaga, Jaen and Seville. Its political capital is Seville. It has six major tourist airports. The most notable international airports are those of Malaga and Seville.
Seaports in the region are based around the port of Algeciras and to a lesser degree Malaga, the bay of Cadiz, Huelva, Almeria and Seville. The road network is made up of motorways, dual carriageways and major roads connecting all the province capitals with each other. The road from Huelva to Portugal (Faro) is also extremely important. The roads of Huelva, Seville and Cordoba all head out towards Extremadura. The road from Cordoba heads towards the Spanish plain via Despeñaperros. There is also a road from Villacarrillo to Albacete and roads that connect Almeria and Granada with Murcia. The most outstanding part of the rail network is the AVE high-speed train that connects Madrid with Seville in less than three hours. The high-speed train network in Andalusia runs from Seville to Cordoba to Madrid. There are also other rail networks that connect the major cities in the region with each other and with the rest of the mainland.
