Marseille downtown -- Turism
Marseille, a charming city in the heart of Provence
Marseille is the 2nd largest city in France, and the capital of the Mediterranean, ideally situated in the heart of Provence. It is the oldest city in France, founded 2,600 years ago. It combines the treasures of a unique heritage, a rich cultural life and a magnificent natural location between the hills and the sea.
Marseille is a Euromediterranean metropolis. The arrival of the high Speed Train TGV (Paris Marseille in 3 hours), the ever more numerous cruise ships, the unprecedented boom in both conventional and business tourism and the development of the Port are indisputable signs of this status.
Thanks to its 23 beaches and 14 marinas, Marseille is the ideal destination for both amateur and professional divers, sailors, sea kayak enthusiasts, etc. Leisure activities can be enjoyed all year round in a unspoilt natural environment.
