Marbella -- Nature areas
Parque Natural de las Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y las Villas, the largest park in Spain.
Over 200,000 hectares of incredible beauty spots make up the Cazorla, Segura y las Villas Nature Reserve, where species which are unique in the world live.
This is the largest protected area in all of Spain. We are talking about 200,000 hectares of mountains, situated to the Northeast of Jaén, with luxuriant forests of pine groves with unique species, such as the Cazorla violet, the Valverde wall lizard, a daffodil which claims to be the smallest in the world and a unique carnivorous plant. The Guadalquivir rises here (in Cañada de las Fuentes, at a height of over 1,300 metres) as well as the Segura. The reserve includes lands belonging to 23 townships of the regions of Cazorla, Segura, Quesada and Las Villas. The reserve has the privilege of being home to species such as the mountain goat, the deer and the wild boar, as well as muflones, which can be contemplated in a partially free state in the 'Collado del Almendral' hunting reserve.
The flora of the Park is one of the richest in Spain, with over 1,300 catalogued species. Of these, at least 24 are exclusive to this territory, among which the Austrian pine, an indigenous species which can be found at heights above 1,200 metres. Without a doubt, the Claris is the best confirmation that providing an excellent service is an art. It has taken five years to transform a neoclassical palace from the 19th century into one of Spain's most unique hotels. A hotel where it is impossible to find two identical rooms because everything at the Claris was hand made. From the design and construction of the furniture to choosing the marble and exotic wood crafted by a diverse team of artisans, following techniques that seemed to have been forgotten in our days..

This course is situated right in the heart of the Costa del Golf, at the foot of the Mijas mountains, in the municipality of Alhaurin El Grande from which the course takes its name. Designed by Severiano Ballesteros, the course fits the terrain like a glove and respects the natural lie of the land, so its is a very uneven course. The fairways are long and narrow which means you will need to hit an accurate drive if you don't want to end up in the water hazards or the numerous bunkers and bushes. Having said that, the level of difficulty of the course can be adapted to all levels because of the versatile nature of the tees which offer up to 6 tee-off positions. As well as the 18-hole round designed by Severiano Ballesteros, the course has another two rounds, one consisting of 18 par-3 holes and another consisting of 9 short holes. .
