Catedral de Eivissa – dedicated to the Virgen de las Nieves.

In 1235 the Catalan troops, sent by Guillem de Montgrí, promised that if they conquered Ibiza they would erect a temple and, as a result of this promise, consecrated a parish church built in the same place where the Yebisah mosque was located. Initially 14th century Gothic, with Baroque alterations in the 18th century. Its exterior is severe and sober, with robust buttresses. Here Santa María la Mayor or Nuestra Señora de las Nieves is worshipped because the Catalan troops promised to erect a temple in honour of the virgin nearest to the day of the conquest which was 8 August, and Nuestra Señora de las Nieves is celebrated on the 5 August

The course is situated opposite the marina after which it is named. The round is 5,170 metres long and has a par of 71. It was designed by the Madrid architect Juan Ligués and has spectacular views of the sea and the beautiful natural surroundings, including a large number of magnificent spreading pine trees. The course consists of three par-3's, two par-5's, and thirteen par-4's.
