Due to Castellón's mild climate, farmlands are very fertile, producing excellent fruits and vegetables like melons, watermelons, pears, peaches, cherries from Bajo Maestrazgo, apricots, figs and, above all, oranges. These are the ideal dessert after any meal, especially if it is a rich one, as it is usually the case in this province. Castellón also has a long tradition when it comes to cakes and pastries, with delicacies like Cristina's cakes, Christmas pastissets, liqueur ring-shaped pastries, flaons, rice with fruits and magnificent ice-cream, mantecados (almond and lard biscuits) and fruit sorbets.
In Castellón they have great wines to complement their cuisine. For example, consider the Tierra de Castellón Wines, with a Protected Geographic Indication. These include the wines from San Mateo which, according to the local folk, are great with any kind of meat. Finally, we must mention the wines from Maestrazgo, with lots of colour and character. Rafael Restaurant, in Castellón de la Plana, is excellent for seafood and the best place to become acquainted with the local cuisine. It was rated 1 sun by the CAMPSA guide. Also recommended by the CAMPSA guide are Peñalén Restaurant and Tasca del Puerto.

The distance from the tees to the green varies considerably, and although it is a short course, ideal for short play, you have the sensation that you are playing on a much bigger ground.
